Wireless

Wireless networking is a great way to distribute not only your broadband, but also share your music and photographs and print to your home printer. It is common to have the wireless incorporated into the ADSL router (broadband), this then sends your broadband around your home whilst also providing a network structure which can be used as a basis for all your wireless communications.

One of the main problems with wireless is that it doesn't fair too well passing through masonry house walls. In this area there are plenty of buildings with very thick walls, some up to a metre thick. Walls like this attenuate the signal so much that getting wireless beyond the next room becomes impossible.

To combat this problem we have various solutions we can use, including sending the signals around the home using the electricity wiring. Sometimes we can re locate the wireless or add a second or third wireless point within the building.

To maintain security we configure the wireless using the latest security protocols, we also create personalised wireless areas that can be easily identified to your household. For example rather than your wireless being called BTHomehub5-A66Z we create a name that relates to you, your home or business eg: Jones_Wireless or Apple_Farm etc.

Sometimes wireless systems can work on some laptops in the home whilst others can not connect. We can usually solve this by carefully reconfiguring your wireless and modifying various parameters.
